These are a few of my favorite things....

There are a couple of things, that when fall comes around, that I look forward to. See if you can come up with the common theme!

1.This is the Teavana Perfect Tea Maker. The Adventurer and I love it in the fall/winter as it makes the perfect cup of tea. All you have to do is put the tea in the maker and fill with hot water. We have an instant hot water dispenser as part of our kitchen sink so it makes it very easy. Steep for your preferred time and Voila! Perfect Tea!  We also use this in the summer to make a concentrated tea that we then dilute for a healthy Iced Tea!! Our favorite Teavana tea is the Youthberry Wild  Orange Blossom Tea Blend. So comforting in winter!

2. Two years ago, Costco (my favorite store next to Amazon) started selling these heated throws. Lets just say that life, in the winter, is just better. These are so soft and so warm. I love snuggling with the adventurists under one of these. Since I discovered how great they are, I have gifted them to my mom, mother-in-law, and grandmother. They are SO good, my mother-in-law repeatedly tells me how much she loves hers!!! And that, my friends, is not something that happens often!

3. Let me start by saying, that I LOVE running outside when it is cold. Truly, truly love it! That said, I HATE being cold! That is quite the love-hate relationship, isn't it?  Last year, my running partner bought Under Armour's Coldgear and she repeatedly told me how much she loved it. Today, I had the opportunity to learn first hand how warm it really can be. It was a crisp 31 degrees when I started running this morning and I had on Under Armour's Compression Coldgear - both the leggings and the mock turtleneck. The inside of the leggings had a soft fuzzy layer that felt really nice. The compression was good also, not too tight and not too loose. The mock turtleneck had 2 features I really liked - it was extra long and it had a grippy hem so it didn't ride up.Again, tight, but not too tight. I didn't get cold at all with these as my base layer. I also had a pair of the Coldgear tech gloves from UA - they were a bit too lightweight for me and I was not as impressed with them as I was with the leggings and the top.

So, here is your test - What is the theme???

Ding Ding Ding Ding - Yup, I do not like to be cold and these are a few of my favorite things that keep me warm.

Remember the song from Sound of Music?

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad!

How do you keep warm when the cold weather strikes??

  2. Warm up with some British Breakfast or Oolong tea, a blanket on the couch and then one of the cats laying on the lap . . . the later provides for instant warmth (if only I could get them to lay on my feet!).

I have some Melanzana clothing (from Leadville, CO). It is very warm and warms one up nicely after a run or shoveling, etc.
